Mr. Tran Quang Phuong (Phuong Tran), Managing Partner with Tran & Tran, has over 15 years specialist experience in intellectual property law. Phuong has special expertise in dispute resolution and the management of complaints relating to patent rights. He is highly experienced in matters relating to the registration of patents with the National Office of Intellectual Property in Hanoi, and he has sound background in intellectual property dispute resolution utilizing the Vietnamese court system.
Phuong is a member of the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association (VIPA), the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI), the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association (ASEAN IPA), and the International Association of Business Leaders (IABL).
Phuong received a Bachelor of Chemistry degree from Hanoi National University in 1996. In 1998 he received a Master’s degree in Materials Science from the International Training Institute for Materials Science in Hanoi, with his studies funded by the Netherlands Government. He became a Vietnamese Registered Patent Attorney in accordance with the requirements of the National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP) in Hanoi in 2003.
Phuong has participated in industrial property rights training courses for patent experts in various locations throughout Asia, including Korea, Singapore and Japan.
